When Tottenham Hotspur announced their named 25-man Premier League squad in September, there was no place for Dutch international striker Vincent Janssen. However, Connor Ogilvie was a surprise name on the list.
Over 21, he had to be named to be eligible and Tottenham shocked many with his inclusion. The left-back, who can also play in a number of different positions, has never played for the Tottenham first-team. However, that was not the biggest reason for the shock. Ogilvie had already been loaned out to League One side Gillingham.
Ogilvie had spent last season on loan at the club, playing 42 times for the club. In August, Gillingham snapped him up again until January.

So does he have a Tottenham future?
Unfortunately, it does not appear so.
Ogilvie has not had the same impact at Gillingham this time around. He has largely been used as a substitute and was again an unused-sub in the loss to Oxford United at the weekend.
If Ogilvie cannot find his way into the Gillingham first-team this season, it is hard to see him having a fruitful career in Tottenham’s.
But he has built a solid reputation in the Football League with Gillingham and former loan club Stevenage. Hopefully, that will see him on to a solid career when his gig at Tottenham is up.
