‘Deserves it’: Some Chelsea fans react after news comes out about West Ham’s £7m man

Even multiple Chelsea fans admit that Michail Antonio deserves to scoop the Premier League Player of the Month award for August.

Antonio has been pitted against Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso for the individual trophy.

However, Chelsea supporters can’t even pretend that the West Ham striker doesn’t deserve the recognition for his fine form.

Antonio already has blasted in four goals for the season and has scored in every single one of West Ham’s games so far. He has also claimed three assists.

And Chelsea supporters appear to be voting for West Ham’s number nine to scoop the prize.

Antonio has always been a threat for West Ham, but his performances really do seem to have gone up a notch this campaign.

The £7 million signing (Daily Mail) has already stated that he is aiming to hit 20 goals this season (Sky) and if he manages that,West Ham should be in a strong position to better last season’s finish, when they claimed a Europa League spot.

If Antonio is to achieve his goal, it will be crucial that he stays fit – which he hasn’t always been able to do in his career to date.

The Hammers have taken seven points from their first three games though, which has really raised optimism levels around the London Stadium.

West Ham are next in action in two weekends’ time, when they take on Southampton.
