‘Deserves appreciation’: Spurs fans praise Erik Lamela after Dinamo Zagreb performance

Spurs ran out comfortable 2-0 winners against Dinamo Zagreb last night and some Tottenham supporters were quick to praise the performance of Erik Lamela.

The Argentinian winger was given the start ahead of Gareth Bale. Jose Mourinho, sensibly, opting to rest the Welshman after his burst of form in recent weeks.

And while it was Harry Kane who got the crucial goals on the night, Lamela, along with a few other Spurs players, stood out with their own individual displays.

Lamela’s future has been questioned at times heading towards this summer. Often on the periphery of things, the former Roma man showed last night just what contribution he can bring to the Spurs cause.

Twitter, then, was full of comments praising Lamela. Some Spurs fans simply wanted to point out how good he’d been, while others felt Lamela deserved praise after often being criticised in the past.
