‘Deserves all credit’, ‘what I want to see’: Some Sunderland fans in awe of ‘total new player’

A number of Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to praise Max Power’s performance and late goal for the Black Cats in the 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light last night.

Sunderland hosted Fleetwood in League One but Phil Parkinson’s charges got off to a bad start as Barrie McKay netted for the visitors in the fifth minute.

Although the Black Cats dominated possession and had 16 shots during the game, they struggled to seriously test the opposition goalkeeper.

However, Sunderland got over the line in dramatic fashion as, deep into stoppage time, Power was in the right place at the right time to slam home from close range.

Aside from his crucial late intervention, the Sunderland captain put in a good shift during the match, particularly after the break when he was on top of the play more.

Sunderland, fourth in the League One table with 58 points from 33 games, are next in action on Sunday when they face Coventry away.
