Goldson, Defoe and Barisic react as Candeias leaves Rangers

Daniel Candeias has posted a heartfelt message to Rangers fans on Instagram after completing a move to Turkish side Genclerbirligi on Monday evening – and three Ibrox teammates have commented on his message.

Candeias, 31, has left Rangers after being brought to Ibrox by Pedro Caixinha in the summer of 2017. He has been a rare example of some excellent work by Caixinha in the transfer window, and is well-liked by fans to this day.

The Portuguese winger managed 97 appearances in all competitions for Rangers, finding the back of the net on 14 separate occasions as well as creating 25 more goals in assists. He had a year left on his contract.

The Scottish Sun claim Rangers have received just £250,000 for the winger, who will now be participating for the second Turkish club in his career – after a spell with Alanyaspor. He sent a message to fans on Instagram.

His best moments include scoring against Celtic in 2017-18, though the result ended in a 3-2 loss. This season, his incredible backheel sent Alfredo Morelos through on goal, to beat Rapid Vienna 3-1 in the Europa League.

Candeias received plenty of reaction from his Rangers teammates, but Jermain Defoe, Borna Barisic and Connor Goldson posted the pick of the replies.

Barisic, a £2million (Mail) signing from NK Osijek last summer even said “you deserve this” to the former Metz winger. Soccer Link have claimed that French Ligue 1 side Dijon want to sign Barisic this summer.
