Liverpool fans congratulate youngster following Championship play-off victory

Harry Wilson was once again instrumental for Derby County last night. The Rams defeated Leeds United 4-2 at Elland Road, setting up a Championship play-off final date with Aston  Villa. Derby’s in-form loanee scored a crucial penalty that saw Derby take the lead on aggregate.

The 22-year-old joined Frank Lampard’s outfit on a season-long loan prior to the 2018/19 campaign. His 15 goals and three assists for Derby will have surely alerted parent club Liverpool towards his quality.

Wilson’s performances this season have been a joy to behold. Featured in his portfolio of goals have been memorable strikes at Manchester United and Southampton in cup contests.

It seems highly unlikely given what he has achieved at Derby this season that he will return to Pride Park once his loan spell ends. Liverpool will have been delighted with his progress and he could earn a chance to shine at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp has spoken at length about the quality he possesses. With Liverpool typically having a hectic pre-season schedule, Wilson will surely get the chance to impress his boss ahead of next season.

Wilson took to Twitter following last night’s epic win. He couldn’t hide his delight at reaching the Wembley final with his temporary club.
