Derby fans praise Louie Sibley performance v Manchester United
Louie Sibley was one of the youngsters on show for Derby County during their FA Cup exit at the hands of Manchester United – but some of the club’s fans on Twitter were left raving about him for his performance.
The Rams ended up losing 3-0 at home to Premier League opposition United in the fifth round of the FA Cup, which means they miss out on a quarter-final tie against Norwich City.
Phillip Cocu’s side were well beaten on the scoreline in their own backyard on Thursday night, but they showed plenty of endeavour during the contest and it was memorable for captain Wayne Rooney against his former team.
Luke Shaw and Odion Ighalo scored first-half goals for United, before the latter added another to his tally in the second-half to wrap up a win.

A selection of Derby supporters on social media picked out Sibley for his eye-catching display and were majorly impressed by him during his 80 minutes on the pitch.
He was one of four changes to the starting XI for the cup fixture and he certainly seized his opportunity.
Sibley slotted into the number 10 role behind the striker and he was extremely positive with driving runs forward when in possession, while also running himself into the ground with great energy.
The 18-year-old was also involved in a feistyy one-on-one battle with Scott McTominay and he left a big impression on the game with his character.
He was making just his seventh first-team appearance of his career and he looks like yet another big talent to come out of the club’s academy that has a big future.

Why the negativity? We’ve done alright. Sibley playing well. He’s either expecting a points deduction or looking at the play offs

Good experience for the young lads. The result is a byproduct of a bigger picture. Good to see Sibley put on a bit of a show. #DCFC
