Derby fans criticise Lampard’s tactics after failure to break down Nottingham Forest

Derby County failed to score against Nottingham Forest last night and some supporters were frustrated with Frank Lampard’s tactics.

Derby County’s struggles to crack the Championship play-offs are well-known by now and Frank Lampard is ultimately at the helm in order to get his charges into the Premier League.

But the fear that the Rams will slip away is beginning to creep in once more, especially in the wake of a 1-0 defeat against their fierce rivals Nottingham Forest at the City Ground last night.

Yohan Benalouane’s second minute goal condemned Derby to their second straight 1-0 loss – following the home reverse to Millwall last week – and they are now outside the play-off spots.

A failure to score goals will always get the fans twitchy and Lampard’s preferred passing game failed to break down Forest last night.

The job Lampard has done this season has been impressive already but he will ultimately be judged on whether he gets Derby into the top flight once more.

Another play-off failure would frustrate the fans who have seen their team slip away at the last one numerous occasions.

They are hoping Lampard can reverse that trend but want him to shake up his passing game in order to add more of a goal threat to the Rams’ frontline…
