Derby County avoided relegation on a thrilling final day of the Championship league season – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were left celebrating the performance of their star man Martyn Waghorn.
Derby’s 3-3 draw at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon was ultimately enough to keep them in the division for another year.
Meanwhile, Wycombe Wanderers, Rotherham United and Sheffield Wednesday were the clubs relegated to League One.
Rotherham conceded an 88th minute goal in their 1-1 draw with Cardiff City to see safety slip through their fingers when they were so close. That left a straight race between Derby and Wednesday, with the hosts securing the draw to spark wild celebrations.

A selection of Derby fans on social media unsurprisingly picked out Waghorn as their hero.
The 31-year-old striker scored two, as well as assisting Patrick Roberts in the second half, to be the match-winner for the Rams.
Derby would’ve been relegated if it were not for Waghorn’s converted penalty in the 78th minute to make the scoreline 3-3, which ultimately proved to be enough for Wayne Rooney’s outfit.
Waghorn had scored just three league goals this season going into the weekend, but his two-goal heroics will be remembered for a long time.
