Derby County’s season suffered a substantial blow last night when they were beaten 1-0 by Millwall at Pride Park.
Jed Wallace’s goal 18 minutes from time was enough to put a severe dent in Frank Lampard’s tilt at reaching the top-six.
It is now just 14 points from the last 11 league games for the Rams, with Nottingham Forest next up on Monday night.
Lampard’s Derby looked somewhat jaded against a resolute Lions side, with Millwall boosting their survival hopes with a big win.
The club’s supporters have been here before.
Typically it is February or March time when the wheels come off for the Rams and they need to get back on track quickly.
Lampard has the perfect game to try and get things back on track.
A win over fierce rivals Forest would increase morale at the club no end, and set Derby up nicely for a final push.
Following the game, Derby supporters were naturally not best pleased.
The Rams faithful were fuming at the defeat and were pondering where the season will go from here.

Last 3/4 performances have emphasised why the summer can’t come too soon for #dcfc. The change of shape made sense, to create width against opposition that sit deep. Execution & tempo the issue; yet again. Midfield shockingly bad. Wilson ineffective – the other 2 sadly past-it.

That was painful last night #dcfc. Nothing created, ran out of ideas. Fearful for Monday 🙈😟 Need a result from somewhere to kick start things again or it’s same old talk of February wobble…😫😢

#dcfc #DCFCFans lacked energy for me last night. Team looked knackered. The two up front seemed to play into Millwalls hands. Marriott and Waghorn basically marked their CB’s all night. No mugs when it comes to defending are Millwall

On to next Monday. I think we will lose heavily! #dcfc

No clue why our fans feel so entitled to be in the prem or challenging for the top two, am only 18 but before 13/14 I remember us being diabolical every week so could be worse could be under clough I suppose #dcfc

So who do we blame tonight?! No Lawrence, No Nugent, No Forsyth….what the hell are some of our “fans” going to do?! Wilson was awful for the 3rd match running but I guarantee he will avoid criticism! #dcfc

Absolute dross! #dcfc

I thought the sight of Keogh and Cole warming up together was peak Derby county. The following 90 minutes proved me totally wrong #dcfc

Our form hasn’t been great for a while now, 4 wins in our last 15 games in all comps suggests we are / were punching well above. More concerning is our performances in our last 4/5 games. Far to slow, passive and lacking in imagination, atleast give it a bloody go!#dcfc #pisspoor

Slow. Slow…slower…sideways….slow. Yawn. #DCFC

Bang average squad this without mount, wilson and tomori. None of them are our players. Massive summer ahead for #dcfc, no urgency tonight. Kept punting it long and not winning any balls in the air. Lampard took a while to change it too. Still a lot to play for though.
