Derby County ace shows off on Instagram; Chelsea stars react

Martyn Waghorn has been keeping himself busy during the hiatus from regular football.

Derby County ace Martyn Waghorn has enjoyed a decent season on the pitch and he’s been showing off his silky skills away from the green bit.

The former Leicester and Rangers star has been showcasing his unbelievable ball control on Instagram and it has earned him rave reviews from some of his former teammates.

The 30-year-old has netted 12 goals this season and the decision to suspend all professional football came at a bad time for the Rams.

Phillip Cocu’s men had just gone within five points of a top-six spot and seemingly had momentum on their side.

They will hope to get back underway and finish their campaign but for now,

Waghorn has apparently been staying sharp in his back garden!

Some incredible footage showed him doing some juggling with the ball before acrobatically sticking the ball into a basketball net from a close distance.

His skills earned him comments from some former team-mates, including Chelsea stars Mason Mount and Billy Gilmour.

Waghorn played with Mount last season as the Rams were beaten in the Play-Off Final by Aston Villa, whilst Gilmour was coming through the Rangers ranks during his time at Ibrox.

Andy King who has played with the 30-year-old at Leicester and Derby was full of praise for the skill saying it’ll be a tough act to follow.

Waghorn will hope to continue his goalscoring form when play gets back underway.

It’s been a difficult season for Derby but with Waghorn in good form, they will have every chance of securing a play-off place once again.
