The assistant coach of the Denmark national team John Dahl Tomasson wants to see Christian Eriksen stay at Tottenham Hotspur.
Eriksen has stayed with the north Londoners despite a summer of speculation linking him with an exit.
The midfield maestro is into the final 12 months of his contract, and admitted earlier in the summer that he wants to experience a new challenge.
The likes of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Juventus have all been linked with the player, who has given no indication he would be willing to extend his contract with Spurs.
In the eyes of Tomasson, the 27-year-old should be considering changing his stance.
He told BT: “It’s been written whether or not Christian should change the club. And he shouldn’t. He is such a balanced and skilled player, so they will always benefit from him. He must play at Tottenham.
“I’m certainly not nervous because you have to assume that Tottenham will play with their best players.
“I know the coach and Christian have a good relationship. Tottenham is an excellent club for Christian and a huge club in England.”
Eriksen should absolutely consider staying.
The team, although they have made a sluggish start to 2019/20, has made such major progress over the last couple of years and he is about to enter his prime years.
He has the potential to help turn Spurs from nearly-men into regular trophy winners.
He appears to have his heart set on a move to a bigger club right now, but maybe things will change depending how well Mauricio Pochettino’s team get on this year.
