‘Delighted with that’, ‘superb’: Some fans react as midfielder joins following Rangers exit

Glasgow Rangers boyhood fan Andy Halliday has found a new club after leaving Ibrox in the summer.

Halliday, who spent time at the Gers academy as a youngster, returned to Ibrox in 2015, helping the club earn promotion back to the Premiership the following season.

The 28-year-old clocked up 152 appearances for the Gers, registering 18 goals and 13 assists, before being let go this summer at the end of his contract.

Halliday, who has also been on the books at Livingston, Middlesbrough and Bradford as well as turning out for the likes of Walsall and Blackpool on loan, has now joined Hearts.

The versatile ace – a midfielder who can also play at left-back – has penned a two-year deal at Tynecastle and will look to help them back up to the Premiership at the first attempt.

Quite a few Hearts fans are pleased with the news and made their feelings known on social media:

The Championship gets under way on Friday 16 October, with Robbie Neilson’s side hosting Dundee in a 19:45 kickoff.
