'Delighted', 'things you love to see': Some Rangers fans thrilled over 'great' news from Ibrox
A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have welcomed the news confirming John Souttar has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Ibrox outfit.
Rangers made the announcement on Friday evening, with the 25-year-old set to arrive at Ibrox at the end of the season on a free transfer.
Souttar is out of contract at Hearts this summer and was reportedly on the radar of clubs in the English Championship.
After initial talks with Rangers, the centre-back agreed to join the Scottish Premiership champions.
A Scotland international, Souttar started and scored in his nation’s last match where they defeated Denmark at Hampden.
Souttar began his career at Dundee United, and was their youngest ever player when he made his debut in a 2-2 draw with Aberdeen at Pittodrie, aged just 16 and 99 days.
He made 73 appearances for the Tangerines, before moving to Hearts in the 2016 January transfer window.
Souttar has since gone on to make 148 appearances for the Tynecastle club, and has scored five goals.
His great form this season earned him a recall to the Scotland squad, and winning his fourth cap in the win over the Danes in November.
Here is what some Rangers fans have made of the Ibrox club’s Souttar announcement:

Delighted. Low risk signing on a free transfer. Keep him fit and we’ve got a player on our hands.— Jack (@JackA180) January 14, 2022
Welcome John! Solid signing and I imagine will replace Katic in the squad. Having an international defender as backup is showing strength in depth 💪— Stu Van Bronckhorst 🇳🇱 (@Stuart1872Rfc) January 14, 2022
Delighted John Souttar has signed for Rangers. He’s a player I have liked for a number of years but has been unlucky with injuries. He’s now entering the best years of his career and hopefully his injury problems are behind him. Plus it’s good news for our European registration.— Dougie (@CF3Loyal) January 14, 2022
