West Bromwich Albion midfielder Rekeem Harper has joined Birmingham on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 20-year-old came through the ranks at The Hawthorns and has made 42 competitive appearances in all competitions for the Baggies.
Harper made his debut for West Brom against Bournemouth in August 2017 and at the time became just the second player born this century to play in the Premier League.
The 6ft 2in ace has also been recognised on the international stage, representing England at both Under-17 and Under-19 level.
However, he has struggled for game time this season, making just four appearances – two starts in the League Cup and two off the bench in the top flight.
Harper, who is contracted to West Brom until 2022, is embarking on the second loan spell of his career, having also turned out for Blackburn in 2017-18.
The Championship side confirmed that their new arrival has been handed the number 24 shirt and will be available for selection against Coventry City on Saturday 30 January.
Here is what some Birmingham fans have made of Harper’s arrival:
Could be what we need in terms of ball retention in the middle. Ivan Hot Potato Sunjic or Kieftenbeld need a ball player. Massive week and we need a striker, determines our survival in my eyes
