Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli is surely on course to become world class, with his maturity continually improving.
The Englishman starred against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup quarter-final on Wednesday, assisting Heung-min Son’s opener before adding a second half strike of his own to kill off the game.
Alli’s goal was superbly taken; a chipped finish with the outside of his boot after wonderful centre-forward play from Harry Kane.

Alli was a thorn in the Gunners’ side for most of the night, and his performance clearly got under the skin of one Arsenal fan in particular, who threw an object at the midfielder.
The Alli of old might have reacted badly to such an unsavoury act, but the star took a deep breath, swiveled and simply indicated the game’s 2-0 scoreline with his fingers.
It was the perfect response. It was arrogant, it was cheeky. Most importantly, it wasn’t Alli losing his head.
A new found maturity
Alli appears to be growing more and more mature now.
Previously in his playing career he has had some poor moments. As well as being a fantastic player, he has always had a ‘nasty streak’ about him, and a hot-headed nature.

Sometimes that has threatened to hinder him.
Alli’s gesture to the Arsenal fans on Wednesday was a sign that the player is growing more mature.
And that maturity can carry him all the way to the world-class bracket.

Keeping a lid on one’s emotions in football at the right times is important. It would appear that Alli is slowly learning that.
He will likely always antagonise but if he can keep on the correct side of the line then he will become one of the best in the world. The talent is crystal clear for all to see.
