Dele Alli signs a new six-year deal with Tottenham – Twitter reacts
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that midfield sensation Dele Alli has signed his second new contract of 2016, putting pen to paper on a new six year deal to keep him at the club until 2022. The new deal is reported to be worth around £55,000 a week, doubling his wages from what he was earning before putting pen to paper.
Since signing in January 2015, and then spending the first few months as a Tottenham player on loan at previous club MK Dons, the 20-year-old has shown to be a real bargain for a fee believed to have been around £5 million. Forming a key part of a strong Tottenham spine featuring Eric Dier and Harry Kane, Alli has sprung to prominence and become a regular for both club and country as he competes at the very highest level.
His creativity and flair have already seen him notch 11 goals from 37 Premier League games for his club, with 13 international caps now under his belt too. Alli is yet to find his best form this season, but there is no doubt that the exciting midfielder will be vital again as Spurs head into their first Champions League campaign since Gareth Bale’s spell at White Hart Lane.
The news is a massive boost for Mauricio Pochettino, who is building a side around this impressive, young English core of his squad. Spurs are finally beginning to lay down a long term plan to help push them onto the next level after coming so close in their chase for the title last season before falling at the final hurdle allowing arch enemies Arsenal to pip them to second place behind Leicester City.

Though many were surprised by how low his wages are in the new agreement…
Dele Alli wage lower than Eric Dier's?
Danny Drinkwater gets more than both of them?

Stats suggest he’s certainly going to be worth the money…
Dele Alli got more assists (9) & scored more goals (10) in 2015/16 than any other Premier League midfielder U23. https://t.co/mNjxXBtPKQ
