Dele Alli has sent a two-word message to Aston Villa star Jack Grealish on his Instagram story, as Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with a move for the playmaker.
Grealish shone as Villa earned a narrow 2-1 win over Derby County on Monday evening at Wembley. Goals from Anwar El Ghazi and John McGinn cancelled out Jack Marriott’s late strike.
Grealish has long been linked with a move to Tottenham, was was the subject of bids last summer. Now, the Daily Mail have claimed that Grealish is still interesting Spurs – and the Championship side want £35million.
Following Villa’s play-off win that has seen them return to the Premier League for the first time since their relegation in 2015-16, Alli congratulate Grealish on Instagram with a simple two-word message – “congrats bro”.
Is Grealish really worth all that money? Yes, he has captained the Midlands side to promotion and played a crucial part in Dean Smith’s side – providing the creative spark.
But he is playing alongside some of the division’s best attackers, including Tammy Abraham, Jonathan Kodjia and Anwar El Ghazi. He has only scored six goals, and created eight assists.
There is no doubt Grealish can shine in the Premier League, but is he really worth £35million? And is he good enough for a side that have reached the Champions League final? There is certainly a long way to go.
