Dele Alli has posted on his Instagram story after remaining an unused substitute during Tottenham Hotspur’s home draw with struggling Fulham on Wednesday evening – and he looks particularly fed up.
Dele, 24, might have been hoping to get a rare Premier League appearance against Scott Parker’s men after earning rave reviews for his performance against non-league Marine on Sunday, in which he laid on an assist.
However, he failed to add to his four Premier League outings this season despite Spurs struggling against the Cottagers. Harry Kane’s header was cancelled out by Ivan Cavaleiro in the second half, and Fulham held on.
It is a frustrating time for Dele. A lack of game time and a lack of momentum under Mourinho could see him leave the club before the end of the January window. Certainly, he posted a cryptic picture on his story – looking fed up.
TBR’s view – Should Dele be looking to move this month?
Without a doubt. While Spurs have made Dele the highly-rated player he is today, he needs to put sentiment to one side and leave Spurs to further his career because while Mourinho is in charge, he will struggle to develop.
Initially, a loan move to the likes of PSG or a side that will play him – but are big enough for Dele to thrive. Everton as suggested by Stan Collymore following the 5-0 win over Marine. Again, that kind of side might suit him.
But one thing is for sure he needs to move, and his Instagram story might be a cryptic hint at just that.
