Former Liverpool defender, Dejan Lovren, has sung the praises of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, and Nat Phillips for stepping into the central defensive void at the club.
The Croatian left the club in the summer and has sat back and watched on as injuries had ravaged Liverpool’s backline. Virgil van Dijk has missed nearly all the season, while Joe Gomez is also out injured.

But Lovren, speaking to Talksport today, praised the likes of Henderson and Fabinho, while also singling out Phillips for a mention.
“I’m sad to see that all the defenders are injured. But I think Fabinho and Hendo have done a great job,” Lovren said.
“They are defensive midfield players and it’s quite hard to play this position so a lot of credit to them. But you can also say about Nathaniel Phillips, he did an amazing job so well done to him too.”

Liverpool signed both Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies on deadline day but Jurgen Klopp opted to go with Fabinho and Henderson against Manchester City last week. It was a decision which ultimately backfired, with City running out 4-1 winners.
TBR View: Nice praise from Lovren but Klopp needs to change something now
You could understand Klopp not chucking his new players in against the best team in the league. But he has to act now and get his defenders playing in defence.
Liverpool are missing Henderson in midfield above all else, so he has to be put back in there.
Davies and Kabak will need to be trusted. There is little point in Klopp bringing them in if he isn’t going to use them.
