New Tottenham Hotspur signing Dejan Kulusevski got his debut over the weekend and he’ll be hoping to be given even more chances in the coming weeks by Antonio Conte.

The Swede’s versatility should stand him in good stead in terms of being considered for selection. After arriving from Juventus, Kulusevski’s ability to play across the entire front line, as well as at wing-back if needed, should serve him well under Conte.

Further, Conte’s intense coaching methods and training sessions will also help the Spurs newboy. And speaking to Football.London, Kulusevski admits he has already been taken aback by the speed and intensity of the players at Hotspur Way.

“When I came here, the training here was much more different from Italy – in a very good way. People are running faster, everything is faster to try to get us stronger,” Kulusevski said.

“So it was very good because that’s what I need – I need my body to feel alive so I can think faster with my head. So I’m very happy to be here and the more I train, the easier it’ll be. It’s very good conditions.”

Tottenham take on Southampton this week as the Premier League gets back into gear. Kulusevski, then, will be hoping for to make his bow in that competition too.

This is what you want to hear from a new signing. Kulusevski has clearly bought into the ways of Antonio Conte already and that is a big blessing.

Spurs fans are expecting both Kulusevski and fellow new signing, Rodrigo Bentancur, to produce the goods between now and the end of the season.

Certainly, if Kulusevski can adapt to training as he suggests, then he should do well. Come May, we will see if the Swede has indeed proven a shrewd addition by Tottenham and Conte.
