Journalist Pete O’Rourke claims Michael Beale now wants Rangers to sign Fulham midfielder Josh Onomah – a player Mauricio Pochettino once labelled a ‘special’ talent.
Beale has now taken over from Giovanni van Bronckhorst as Rangers boss after the Dutchman was sacked last month.
Van Bronckhorst guided the Scottish giants to a Europa League final last season but after an underwhelming start to the new campaign, he has been replaced.
Beale has now returned to Ibrox after working under Steven Gerrard as his assistant manager. And the former QPR man is apparently eyeing a move for Onomah, after being interested in him during his time with The Hoops.

Beale wants Rangers to sign Onomah
O’Rourke claims that Beale really likes Onomah and that the Fulham man is on his ‘radar’ ahead of the January window.
“I believe he does like Josh Onomah from Fulham,” O’Rourke told GiveMeSport.
“He was interested in possibly signing him when he was at QPR, so he’s a player that’s definitely on Beale’s radar.”
The English midfielder has fallen down the pecking order under Marco Silva and has only made two appearances in the Premier League this season.
He’s certainly impressed during his spells in the Championship for both Fulham and Aston Villa. But Onomah has failed to nail down a starting place in the Cottager’s side during their stints in the Premier League.
A product of Tottenham’s academy, Onomah was once viewed as a bright prospect in north London. Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino even backed him to become an England international when he was 18-years-old.

“Why not? It is impossible to set the limit for him as he is 18 and is very strong. His quality is amazing and he only needs to work hard and then he’ll be fine,” Pochettino told the Daily Mail after being asked if Onomah could represent England back in 2015.
“He is a special boy, a special player, because of his talent, his potential and his body. His body is powerful and he has quality in his feet. I don’t know how he will develop.
“Sometimes you get an instinct about a player but I prefer to keep that inside. Football is always about input and feeling and sometimes you don’t know why but you think this guy can be a top player.
“Maybe it is about knowledge about football as we have been in football all our life. I think we have a lot of talent here.”
Beale will certainly be looking to bolster his squad in January with Rangers currently nine points behind league leaders Celtic.
Onomah has proven to be a quality player at Championship level and would be a good addition to Beale’s squad.
