Newcastle United new boy Joe Willock says that he will have a word and try and bring Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah to the North East.
Nketiah to leave the Emirates?
In an interview with the BBC, Willock was asked to help Newcastle sign both Reiss Nelson and Nketiah from his former side, Arsenal.
And it seems that the idea of having one of his best friends in Nketiah with him at St. James’ Park really appeals.
He said: “I don’t know, I don’t know their situation. Eddie is one of my best friends, so I’ll definitely put in a good word!”
Arsenal willing to listen?
If Newcastle were to submit a bid for Nketiah they may find Arsenal willing to listen.
There have been widespread reports suggesting that Mikel Arteta would be prepared to offload Nketiah this summer.
The young striker struggled to make much of an impact at Arsenal last term, where his starts were very limited.

Although he has shown promise, particularly in an England shirt at under-21 level, there are still areas of Nketiah’s game which need to be refined.
And with Arsenal looking to raise funds, he could be a player who the club is willing to sacrifice.
Unfortunately for all parties, Newcastle’s budget seems to be extremely limited, and after they spent big on Willock, it would be a surprise if they repeated the trick on Nketiah too.
