Antonio Conte is set for transfer talks with Tottenham Hotspur during the mid-season break for the World Cup.
That is what journalist Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport, after Spurs signed off with a 4-3 victory over Leeds United on Saturday.
He said that Spurs are plotting a swoop for a new central defender, although it is not clear who their top target is at this stage.

Conte set for transfer talks
He said: “It’s still slightly unclear exactly who they’re going to go for in this position.
“But it’s definitely an area of the pitch that they are working on, and it will be something that Conte speaks about in the next two weeks.”
It makes sense that managers will work on transfers with their clubs during the World Cup, but with Spurs there is an additional dimension.
There is uncertainty over Conte’s future, with talks expected to take place over his contract while the World Cup is going on.
It is promising that he is involved in transfer talks in the interim, although Spurs could hardly do anything else than plan for the Italian to remain in situ.
Spurs tried to get a new central defender during the summer, but did not manage to buy Alessandro Bastoni, instrasd getting Clement Lenglet on loan.
So a long-term option in that area of the pitch is understandably a priority, and Spurs have struggled to keep the ball out of their net in recent weeks.
