AFC Bournemouth defender Steve Cook has absolutely ruined Leeds United and one of their supporters on Twitter after an Elland Road supporter attempted to tease the centre-back following his 150th Premier League appearance on Saturday.
Cook, 28, starred for Bournemouth on Saturday as Eddie Howe’s men defeated Manchester United at the Vitality Stadium with a 1-0 win – as former United striker Josh King scored the only goal of the game with a stunning turn and volley.
But it was Cook who was just as important in Bournemouth’s pursuit of three points. Alongside Nathan Ake, Cook kept the likes of Marcus Rashford, Daniel James and Anthony Martial quiet throughout the match.
Despite Simon Francis being Bournemouth’s club captain, Cook has skippered the Cherries side in all 11 games this term – starting and finishing all the league games and reaching 150 Premier League appearances. A Leeds fan attempted to tease him.
Cook has been with Bournemouth during their rise from League One level to the Premier League, clocking up a whopping total of 316 appearances for Howe’s men. He is a leader at the back, with his rise parallel to Bournemouth’s upward spiral.
It was an excellent day for Cook – clocking up a Premier League milestone with a commanding performance in a 1-0 win over United. He responded to the Leeds fan, ruining the Whites supporter by poking fun at Leeds’ absence from the top flight.
