Tottenham Hotspur will have to wait a little longer than most of the other Premier League teams to get their campaign under way over the coming days.
Spurs have been handed the Monday night slot in their first matchday of the season, with a trip to newly-promoted Leicester City on the cards.
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has been putting his players through their paces and has enjoyed a decent pre-season, with wins in all but two of their games.
Last season, Spurs were quick out of the starting blocks and were in top-four contention for most of the campaign.
However, a late downturn in form sadly cost their a spot in the Champions League this season, though they did manage to qualify for the Europa League.
Tottenham will now look to go again and their 2024/25 adventure begins at Leicester City, who are back up in the top flight after a season in the Championship.
Chris Sutton has predicted how he feels Spurs will fare against the Foxes, and has also dished out some criticism over what he has heard about Postecoglou from some quarters.

Chris Sutton stunned by criticism of Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou
Sutton, writing on BBC Sport, says he has heard a lot of “nonsense” about Postecoglou being on thin ice and needing to start the season well.
The former Chelsea man is stunned by this criticism, as he feels Tottenham have obviously made progress over the past 12 months.
Sutton is confident that Postecoglou will not be affected by the criticism, and has backed him to have a good season with a 3-1 win in the Midlands.
“I am hearing a lot of nonsense about Tottenham and how their manager Ange Postecoglou ‘needs a good start’ to the new campaign,” he began.
“I don’t understand why he is under pressure now at the start of his second season.
“The Spurs fans were bored and fed up every weekend under Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, but they were entertained last season and almost made the top four too – all without Harry Kane.
“Nobody can argue that Ange did not make progress, so why is he being questioned? It feels like people are waiting for him to fail, and I think that is deeply unfair.
“I don’t think it will bother Postecoglou, though. He will just plough through it. He has managed for a long time and has had huge success.
“I am expecting Spurs to have another good season under him, especially now they have signed Solanke, which looks like an astute bit of business.
“Leicester will be well-organised under Steve Cooper, and they probably stand the best chance of staying up out of the three promoted clubs, but I think Spurs will be too strong for them.”
