Deco has suggested on Instagram that Raphinha’s goal will be the first of many after the winger bagged the winner in Leeds United’s clash with Everton on Saturday.
The Brazilian was handed only his second start for the Whites at Goodison Park. He had looked bright against Arsenal a week earlier and came close to scoring his first goal for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Once again, Raphinha was a standout performer for Leeds this weekend. His energy caused Everton plenty of problems. And he created a number of openings for himself and for his teammates.
Interestingly, the decisive goal probably came from the visitors’ most speculative attempt of the game.

Raphinha collected the ball around 25 yards from goal. After taking a few touches while he seemingly worked out whether a teammate was in a better position, the 23-year-old hit a low drive into the bottom corner that Jordan Pickford could not keep out.
It was a superb finish from the youngster. And it was a real statement of intent given the promise that he has shown since arriving in the Premier League.
Unsurprisingly, Deco – the former Rennes star’s agent – felt compelled to take to social media after the game. The former midfielder claimed that the goal would be the ‘first of many’ for Raphinha…

Raphinha certainly staked his claim for further starts. Bielsa made a brave call again leaving the likes of Rodrigo and Helder Costa on the bench.
In fairness, it would have seemed a harsh decision to leave Raphinha out for Saturday. But he would also been aware that the pressure was on to impress given the depth Leeds now have.
However, he dealt with the pressure superbly to secure Leeds the three points.
