Declan Rice uses one word to describe Gabriel Martinelli after his performance vs Luton Town

Arsenal picked up a dramatic 4-3 win over Luton Town last night, and Gabriel Martinelli and Declan Rice both got on the score sheet.

It was a crazy game for the Gunners at Kenilworth Road yesterday. Arsenal were the favourites to win it and they did just that, but two errors from David Raya made the game a lot more tense than it should’ve been. Rice was the Gunners’ hero in the end.

Declan Rice says Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli was ‘top’ vs Luton Town

Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring for Arsenal in the 20th minute and Declan Rice scored the winner in minute 97, but a lot happened in between those goals.

Right after they scored the opening goal, the Gunners allowed Luton Town to get back in the game after some terrible defending from a corner.

Gabriel Jesus restored Arsenal’s lead before half-time, but Rob Edwards’ side levelled it from another corner after the break, this time with a bit of help from David Raya.

The Spaniard made another mistake a few minutes later to allow Ross Barkley to score, and it felt like it was going to be one of those games for Arsenal fans.

However, Kai Havertz equalised soon after and Rice won it in the end in truly dramatic fashion to help the Gunners go five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Martinelli took to Instagram after the game to celebrate the win. Rice described his Brazilian teammate with just one word: “Toppppp!”

Martinelli had a great game for Arsenal

Gabriel Martinelli’s numbers this season aren’t as great as they were last time out, but he is still performing brilliantly.

The Brazilian was unlucky not to score against Wolves last weekend, but he made no mistake when he got the chance against Luton Town last night.

Declan Rice will get all the plaudits for his last-minute winner and rightly so, but Martinelli deserves praise as well for his performance on the left flank.

He is almost a guaranteed start against Aston Villa on Saturday, and if he has a good game, Arsenal will likely come away with all three points.
