Declan Rice has now shared how the Arsenal squad responded to Porto’s 93rd minute goal in the dressing room.
The 25-year-old made the comments when speaking to Hayters TV.
So, what did Declan Rice say after Arsenal suffered late heartbreak? Let’s take a look…
Declan Rice shares how Arsenal players felt after 93rd minute Galeno winner
Well, the Gunners were left shocked as a 93rd minute goal from Galeno handed Porto a 1-0 win in the dying stages of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg.
However, Rice claimed that the mood inside the dressing room after full time was one of positivity – rather than anything negative.
The England international said: “Look, we have lost games this year – and drawn games – and I’ve seen the changing room after. It’s been really bad. But tonight, we have just lost, but there’s real positivity around the group at the minute, we’ve had such a good start to 2024. We take the positives from tonight and see where we can improve.”

That is exactly how Arsenal should be feeling – in our view at least.
Arsenal must not let Porto defeat change anything
Of course, it is devastating to lose a game in that manner – especially a UEFA Champions League clash – although Rice, who received praise from Jamie Carragher, is spot on.
Arsenal have been superb in 2024 so far, and one 93rd minute wonder strike should not allow the mood to change within the group.
The Gunners have scored goals for fun so far this year – netting six and five away to West Ham and Burnley respectively – so there is still a strong chance of Arsenal progressing into the Quarter Final.

Mikel Arteta’s side will also have home advantage in the second leg – which surely bodes well.
Hopefully, the north Londoners can bounce back with a positive result against Newcastle on Saturday, and resume winning ways.
