England international midfielder Declan Rice believes new West Ham manager David Moyes is exactly what the club needed after letting their standards slip.
As per the Daily Mail, Rice has explained why his no-nonsense approach was needed and praised the Scot for the clarity of his message since being reappointed to succeed Manuel Pellegrini.
He said: “He’s old school but that is what you need. We needed that. We were getting too sloppy. Straight away, he set the record straight and said that we have not been running hard enough, working hard enough.
“We’ve let our standards drop. He gets the best out of the players. If you’re not playing well he will tell you straight.”

TBR’s View – The real test for Moyes comes after new manager bounce wears off
Moyes’ passion and straight-talking approach will provide welcome relief for the players who had grown used to Manuel Pellegrini’s placid style.
That has already produced a bounce but Moyes must create an identity and a playing style which reaches beyond that short-term stage.
It has proved beyond him in every job he has taken since leaving Everton and that’s why there wasn’t much positivity around his reappointment. Rice will hope Moyes can buck that trend.
