Declan Rice sent a heartfelt message to West Ham captain Mark Noble after the latter’s performance on Monday night.
Hammers midfielder Rice, who was sidelined for last night’s fixture away to Wolverhampton Wanderers, watched his side pick up another three points in the Premier League.
Despite a fightback from the hosts, West Ham secured a 3-2 victory at Molineux to move fourth in the league table.
Jesse Lingard, Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen were all on the scoresheet within the opening 38 minutes.
Leander Deandoncker’s 44th minute goal, as well as Fabio Silva’s 68th strike, made life uncomfortable for the visitors late on. Fortunately, David Moyes’ side did manage to hold on though for a win.
Noble, 33, slotted back into the central midfield position due to the absence of Rice.
The experienced club captain delivered an accomplished performance back in the XI, and showed his value to the current squad at the London Stadium.
Rice posted a seven-word message on Twitter to Noble:
“No criticism please. Unbelievable tonight. My skipper,” he said.
TBR’s View:
If you were to pick one player West Ham would fear missing the most through injury, then a lot would select Rice.
The England international had to watch his teammates face Wolves on Monday, and saw them earn a massive three points to move into the Champions League positions with eight games left to play.
Noble has already announced he’ll be leaving at the end of next season, but he can still be a big help.
He slotted in alongside Tomas Soucek, who is another one of those key men really driving the club on this season to dizzy heights.
