Declan Rice is one of Arsenal’s most important players.

The Englishman is the Gunners’ record signing, and he has been absolutely brilliant for them over the last two years.

Rice’s importance at Arsenal is not just on the pitch but also behind the scenes, as he is a real leader

Now, it looks like Mikel Arteta has also sought his opinion on one player.

Mikel Arteta has spoken to Declan Rice about Arsenal target Eberechi Eze

Arsenal are very interested in signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.

The North Londoners are keen to strengthen their attack this summer, and the England international would be a very good signing for them.

Just recently, a report claimed that Bukayo Saka has privately encouraged Eze to join Arsenal this summer.

Now, The Beautiful Game Podcast — who have close ties with Eze, have been accurate with their past updates on him and have even had him on their podcast — have shared some new information.

It has been revealed that Arteta has privately spoken to Declan Rice about Eze, and the midfielder gave his manager a ‘glowing endorsement’ of the Crystal Palace star.

They tweeted: “Mikel Arteta has spoken to Declan Rice about Eberechi Eze, and the Arsenal midfielder gave a glowing endorsement of his international teammate.

“While Tottenham maintain their interest, Eze is understood to prefer a move to Arsenal, the club he supported growing up.”

Arsenal think they can sign Eberechi Eze for a lower fee

Eze would be a fantastic signing for Arsenal.

The Englishman, hailed as ‘unbelievable‘ by Oliver Glasner, can play on either flank as well as in midfield, and that sort of versatility will offer plenty of options to Arteta.

Eze has a release clause in his contract worth £68 million, but TBG claim that there is confidence that a deal could be struck for around £60 million.

“While a £68 million release clause has been suggested, there is belief that a deal could be reached for closer to the £60 million mark,” they tweeted.

At the time of writing, however, there has been no contact between the two clubs.
