Declan Rice and Adam Lallana send supportive messages to Liverpool star

Liverpool defender has posted some positive Instagram posts of him working hard during his rehabilitation, with Declan Rice and ex-Reds star Adam Lallana offering words of support.

Gomez has been missing since November after picking up a serious knee injury whilst on England duty.

He is now back in the gym after an operation to prepare his damaged ACL and that can only be good news for Liverpool.

Gomez is facing a long road back to first-team action and it could be months yet before a return to senior action is possible.

Following his latest Instagram posts, the 23-year-old has been sent some positivity from Declan Rice and Adam Lallana.

Gomez suffering an injury has coincided with Virgil van Dijk being injured with a similar problem at the same time.

It’s been a nightmare start to the New Year for Liverpool who lost their long-standing unbeaten home record in the Premier League last night.

Burnley ran out 1-0 winners at Anfield leaving the reigning champions six points behind Manchester United who sit on top of the league.

Gomez had just started to get into his stride when injury struck.

His form was improving all the team and he had started to earn regular recognition by being called up to the England squad.

The £77,000-a-week defender is proving a sore miss to the Liverpool ranks and they’ll welcome him back sharpish.

In the meantime, Jurgen Klopp must overcome arguably his toughest period as boss.

His team haven’t scored a league goal in 2021 and the challenge now is to revive the fortunes.

For Gomez, the hard work continues and as a younger member of the team, the anticipation will be that his recovery goes smoothly.
