Declan John in? Jack Baldwin out? Potential Sunderland transfer dealings

The transfer window remains open for Sunderland if they want to bring in new players for the rest of the season. Whilst the window has closed in the Premier League and Championship, League One clubs can still add to their squad before today’s 5pm deadline.

So what are the most likely ins and outs for Sunderland by the end of the day?

The most likely addition for Sunderland is clearly at left-back. It seems as though a move for Greg Taylor will not be happening. As reported by Sky Sports, the Kilmarnock defender has undergone a medical at Celtic.

Sheffield Wednesday defender Morgan Fox is another option. However, as the Owls boss Lee Bullen confirmed last week to Sheffield Star journalist Dom Howson, there is ‘no chance’ of Sunderland signing him.

So the most likely incoming appears to Swansea City left-back Declan John. The Chronicle is reporting the Welshman is the ‘primary target’ for Jack Ross.

Other then a left-back, it seems Sunderland are content with their squad.

As for outgoings, the Chronicle suggests one centre-back or central midfielder could leave this summer.

Jack Baldwin is said to be the ‘most likely candidate’. The Chronicle does however mention interest in both Dylan McGeough and Max Power and it appears one of these three could make way.

Despite a contract wrangle, Jack Ross told the Chronicle this week he does not expect young Swedish talent Benji Kimpioka to leave before today’s deadline.

So it looks like it could be one in and one out for Sunderland today.
