Arsenal defender Pablo Mari has signed the contract for an initial loan deal with Monza, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners defender has been surplus to Mikel Arteta’s requirements for some time now.
Mari spent the second half of last season on loan at Serie A outfit Udinese, where he did well.

Though he returned to Arsenal in summer, the Gunners have been looking for a transfer solution for the £85,000-a-week ace.
This month, Mari emerged as a transfer target for both Monza and Hellas Verona, both in Serie A.
The newly-promoted Biancorossi have now won the race, Romano providing more information on Twitter.
“Official, confirmed,” wrote the transfer insider. “Pablo Mari has signed the contract as new Monza player.
“Deal signed also between clubs with Arsenal.”
Romano then reported that Monza will pay Mari’s full salary.
And if they stay up in Serie A, Arsenal will receive £4.3m-5.1m for the Spaniard.
At the time of writing, neither Arsenal nor Monza had put out a statement on Mari.
Nonetheless, it had been on the cards and it’s surely a matter of time before the clubs make it known.
Mari joined Arsenal on loan from Flamengo in January 2020 before signing permanently in the summer.
However, the Spaniard has only made 22 senior appearances for the Gunners.
Mari is a solid player, but it looks as though there’s no room for him at the Emirates any more.
Therefore, a move away is very much the right solution for all parties.
