Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been named in Garth Crooks’ latest Premier League Team of the Week on BBC Sport.
The Gunners captain may have had a difficult season for the most part but he did well in Monday night’s 3-0 win over Newcastle.
After a tricky first half, Aubameyang ended his Premier League goal drought by beating Emil Krafth and firing past Karl Darlow at his near post for the opener on 50 minutes.

Two Hale End graduates then combined for the second on the hour, Emile Smith Rowe beating Jamal Lascelles for pace before squaring for a simple tap-in for Bukayo Saka.
And Aubameyang then got his second of the night in the 77th minute, an open-goal finish following great work from Cedric Soares.
The Gabon international’s efforts on the night saw him make Crooks’ XI – the only Arsenal player to make the cut.
“Arsenal’s game against Crystal Palace may have been a non-event but the game against Newcastle was anything but,” Crooks wrote on BBC Sport.
“Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was bang in form again and his finishing deadly.
“The Arsenal striker scored two and probably should have had a hat-trick against the Magpies.
“His side-foot that hit the post in the first half was a good indicator as to what sort of night Newcastle were in for and Arsenal’s young guns didn’t disappoint.”
TBR View:
Aubameyang hasn’t had a good first half of the season, but a brace in the Premier League, along with another goal against Newcastle in the FA Cup, show he’s rediscovering his scoring touch.
The Gunners were in dire straits just over a month ago but things are now starting to click together all over the pitch.
Hopefully Aubameyang’s latest two goals will be the first of many between now and season’s end.
