Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a fruitful transfer window, bringing in seven new players.

More recently, Spurs have worked to move on several players surplus to Antonio Conte’s requirements.

Now, with just a week left of the summer window, Tottenham could yet look to sign some more players.

Spurs are apparently looking at a new creative playmaker ahead of deadline day.

Nicolo Zaniolo is reportedly still on Tottenham’s radar, even though he suffered a dislocated shoulder at the weekend.

Hakim Ziyech has also emerged as a potential target for Antonio Conte.

But arguably the most attainable option at No. 10 seems to be Atalanta’s Ruslan Malinovskyi.

TuttoAtalanta reported last week that Tottenham were looking to bring the Ukraine international to N17.

A few days later, Calciomercato.com claimed that Tottenham were actually leading the race for Malinovskyi.

The player certainly seems keen on a move to Spurs.

“It’s true that Ruslan Malinovskyi dreams of Tottenham,” Fabrizio Romano recently claimed on the Here We Go podcast.

“He would love to join Tottenham, so on player side the message is pretty clear.

“But the only club that’s made an official proposal to Atalanta is Marseille.

“A swap deal with Cengiz Under. But Atalanta’s side it’s a no to current conditions.

“So no agreement with Marseille as of now, let’s see if Tottenham will decide to jump in.”

Now, Dean Jones has provided a further update corroborating what Romano has said.

He told GiveMeSport: “I checked this out with someone that knows far more about the Malinovskyi situation than I typically would.

Aand the message back was that the player has been very open minded about a transfer this summer.”

Malinovskyi factfile

Primarily a No. 10, Malinovskyi is an outstanding free-kick taker.

Last season, he registered 10 goals and seven assists in all competitions for the Bergamo outfit.

Since joining Atalanta in 2019, he has made 130 appearances for the Serie A outfit across all competitions.

The “dazzling” midfielder with a “thunderous” left foot has scored 30 goals and provided 27 assists.

Malinovskyi also has considerable experience at international level, having won 49 caps for Ukraine.
