Davinson Sanchez has responded after being asked whether he considered leaving Tottenham Hotspur in January – in comments being reported by Football London.
It has been an interesting season for the Colombian. He has been a stalwart for Jose Mourinho’s side in recent weeks. However, that has not always been the case.

Sanchez went more than two months without a Premier League appearance for Spurs before the turn of the year. In fact, he was often left out of the match day squad altogether during that run.
Unsurprisingly, his absence raised questions about his future. Italian outlet Calciomercato reported in early December that he wanted to leave Tottenham amid interest from AC Milan.
But when asked about whether he ever thought about suggesting moving at the start of the year, Sanchez insisted that there was nothing in speculation.

He said, as reported by Football London: “Never! Never! Football is that way and it gives you the chance to bounce back in these situations. That’s what happened. Also I didn’t think that I had to play because I was playing before. No, no, I never said that.
“We all have that moment. You just have to be helpful and supportive and of course knowing that when I am recalled I’ll get back at my best so the team is going to be there for me too.
“I can’t expect that the team will be losing because I wasn’t playing. That’s never come from me.”
It does appear to be a crucial time in Sanchez’s Tottenham career. He arrived as a 21-year-old, so he was always going to be given time to settle in.
However, he is now reaching the stage of his career where potential needs to turn into quality. And some may have doubted whether he was going to be good enough to make the grade in North London.
But since returning to the fold, Sanchez – who earns £65,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – has often been excellent. And it appears that the shirt is now his to hold onto.
