Davide Zappacosta departure would surely spell trouble for Crystal Palace’s Victor Moses pursuit

Chelsea are ready to sell Davide Zappacosta. It is reported by Il Messagero that Chelsea are ready to let the Italian join Lazio on loan until the end of the season. That deal would then become permanent for €15 million (£13.5 million) in the summer.

It would be another big hit for Crystal Palace in their bid to sign the player permanently. As reported by the Evening Standard, the Eagles had already been dealt a blow by Cardiff City’s recent interest.

The deal is said to be worth a reported £12 million and Palace would no doubt have been confident of bringing the player back to his former club.

However, with Zappacosta gone, it will surely be tough for Palace to convince Chelsea into a Moses sale.

The Nigerian, although seen more as a winger since Antonio Conte left, is now the only real back-up option to Cesar Azpilicueta at right-back for Maurizio Sarri’s men.

If Zappacosta does go to Lazio, then there is surely little chance of signing Moses until a replacement is brought in by the Blues.

Crystal Palace will no doubt be hoping Chelsea do bring in a new name or that Zappacosta sticks around.

If not, then Moses seems to be an unlikely recruit at present.
