David Weir has picked out four Rangers players for immense praise for their contributions this season at Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard’s team sit 18 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table ahead of second-placed Celtic, albeit they have played a game more.
It would take an enormous collapse for the Gers not to win the league title this season, especially as they’ve not lost in the top flight all campaign, but their supporters won’t believe it until it’s mathematically possible.
The Light Blues have been dynamite at times going forward, but their success has largely been built on the defence.
Rangers have remarkably conceded just eight goals in 29 league games so far.
Weir has picked out full-backs James Tavernier and Borna Barisic for their roles this season, as well as commanding centre-half Connor Goldson.
Ex-Rangers defender Weir also gave a special mention to 39-year-old goalkeeper Allan McGregor.
“I think the goalkeeper Allan McGregor has been outstanding. Connor Goldson, James Tavernier and Borna Barisic have been almost consistent throughout [the whole season],” Weir told Football Pass.
“There has been a good degree of stability, but the results are unprecedented in terms of the quality and the consistency.”

TBR’s View:
McGregor, who earns £13,000-a-week, has delivered some stunning individual displays this season.
If Rangers are to go deep into this season’s Europa League competition, the goalkeeper is surely going to have a big say.
The priority will be on domestic success with the league title within reach, but the players will want to prove themselves on the European stage and they’ve got stars with top-class ability.
