David Villa has three-word Instagram message for new Celtic signing

Kyogo Furuhashi has finally arrived at Celtic, after an agreement was confirmed last week. The Japan international arrives at the club from Japanese side Vissel Kobe – renowned for currently boasting Andres Iniesta. David Villa also played for Kobe, and he has sent a message to Furuhashi.

The 26-year-old attacker joins Celtic after impressing Ange Postecoglou – with the latter joining Celtic from Yokohama Marinos. The Japan international scored a stunning 16 goals in 22 games so far during the 2021 campaign, which is still ongoing throughout the year.

Celtic announced that Furuhashi – who Japanese outlet Daily Sports claim has cost £5million – will be wearing the number eight shirt. Following on from that, the six-time Japan star posted on his own Instagram account – labelling a move to Celtic as a “dream come true”.

Villa played alongside Furuhashi at Kobe during the 2019 campaign in which the legendary Spanish striker scored 13 goals in 29 games. He then retired after a season in Japanese football, but he has not forgotten Furuhashi. Responding to his post, he commented: “Lets go champ”.
