David Villa was amongst those who applauded Rodrigo Moreno on Instagram after Leeds United’s dramatic win over Norwich at Elland Road on Sunday.
Leeds picked up a huge win in their battle to stay in the Premier League. Joe Gelhardt scored a 94th minute winner for Jesse Marsch’s men three minutes after it had appeared that the Whites had thrown the victory away.

It was certainly one of the most eventful Leeds games this season. Two stoppage-time goals, a penalty awarded and then overturned, several yellow cards and feisty moments.
But there were also a number of moments when Leeds had the opportunities to kill the game. However, the only player to find the back of the net before the 90 minutes were up was Rodrigo.

The Spaniard’s deflected effort found the bottom corner to send Elland Road into a frenzy. Certainly, it was immediately clear just how much the goal meant to the forward as he gathered everyone by the dug-out.
Rodrigo stepped up when Leeds needed him on Sunday
It has not been an easy time for Rodrigo at Leeds. He was taken off at the break in the 3-0 loss against Aston Villa after a poor showing.
He came off once again on Sunday. But that was only after a brilliant display from the 31-year-old. He was superb along with Patrick Bamford. And it would now be a big blow if he is sidelined for any period of time after his withdrawal.
Undoubtedly, Rodrigo’s passion for the cause cannot be questioned. His celebration evoked memories of when he booted the corner flag pole after equalising in stoppage-time against Wolves earlier this season.
He took to Instagram following the game to express his delight at the win. And amongst those to reply was Villa. The former Spain international joined Tyler Roberts in sending a message to Rodrigo…
