Everton U23s boss David Unsworth has suggested young Anthony Gordon’s versatility could serve him well in his bid to become involved with the first-team.
The 18-year-old has been in terrific form so far this season, scoring five goals in six PL2 appearances.

Gordon, an England youth international, is viewed as one of the club’s best young prospects and might well be knocking on Marco Silva’s door if his great form continues.
The starlet, who joined Everton aged 11, has been playing as a striker this term, but does have the nous to play anywhere along the frontline, and Unsworth sees that as a major positive for his first-team prospects.
He said (Liverpool Echo): “I see the flexibility. Anthony plays a nine, a 10 and can play off the sides. I think modern day strikers, for young players, it’s great to have that flexibility because it might give him an earlier opportunity in the first-team.”
TBR’s view
Gordon will surely become involved with Silva’s side if he keeps performing to his current level with Cenk Tosun’s future at Goodison Park looking effectively dead and buried at this point.

Versatility is so important these days and Everton could do with someone to come in and shake things up.
Arguably, Richarlison is the only first-team player currently capable of playing anywhere in attack at the moment, so there could well be room for Gordon to perhaps come in and make a name for himself.
With Tosun unfancied and winger Theo Walcott’s form a problem, Gordon has reason to be hopeful.
