Everton’s under-23s secured a league and cup double last night with a 1-0 win over Newcastle United. Plenty of the Everton players have high hopes of making it into the first-team picture at Goodison Park in years to come. That includes Josh Bowler.
Bowler was brought into the club from Championship side QPR in the summer of 2017.
As reported by Sky Sports, Everton paid the West London side £4.25 million for the talented winger, who signed a deal at the club until 2020.

He struggled last season but has come into his own this and was sensational against Newcastle last night.
David Unsworth, the Everton under-23s boss, was clearly impressed with his display, telling the Everton official website:
“That was a top performance from Josh. The way he’s performed in the past three, four months… He’s just a top player.
“Hopefully this team’s success can be the springboard for individuals to have great careers.”
Bowler is certainly a highly-rated talent and Everton paid a significant sum to bring him up to Finch Farm.
In recent weeks he has looked like a frightening talent on the wing.
Is he ready for the Everton first-team? Probably not quite yet, with plenty of options in the wide areas at Goodison Park.
However, a loan spell next season might be a wise move from Everton. Because in Bowler, they have a lad with special talent.
