David Unsworth has told the Liverpool Echo that he believes Everton youngster Antony Evans will leave the club in the January transfer window, as part of a permanent deal or on loan.
Evans, 21, has been in excellent form for Everton’s Under-23 side this season, scoring three goals and laying on four assists in seven Premier League 2 appearances for Unsworth’s second string.
He scored an excellent free-kick on Friday evening as The Toffees played out a 2-2 draw with Manchester City. Evans has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Goodison Park, and it looks as though he will leave.
Unsworth spoke after the draw against Manchester City, and believes the England Under-19 international will leave the club in January and claimed the attacking midfielder could even leave on a permanent basis – or just a loan.
“I still think it will materialise, I just think it will be in January because he’s producing levels of performance and he’s scoring goals now,” Unsworth said. “It gets his name on the sheet, his profile raised and I think, I’ve no doubt, that he’ll get a move.”

TBR’s view – Should Everton give Evans a chance?
Evans is one of Everton Under-23’s best players and has the potential to certainly make it at Premier League level, or indeed in the Championship. His technical ability is very strong for a player of his age.
Deadly from set-pieces and just as creative as having an eye for goal, Evans has impressed for Morecambe and Blackpool during loan spells. A permanent move to a League One or Championship side is likely.
