David Seaman believes Tottenham fans can take Mauricio Pochettino’s comments about his future with a pinch of salt.
Spurs are preparing for their Champions League semi-final second leg with Ajax on Wednesday night, where they will be trying to overturn a 1-0 deficit.
The North London club will need an away victory to progress to the final, where Liverpool are waiting for the winners.
Pochettino has claimed that he would have to think about leaving his current position if he manages to win a European trophy.
“Maybe I work with Daniel [Levy], sitting, working in different for sure. To win the Champions League with Tottenham, in these circumstances, in this season, maybe I need to think a little bit to do something different in the future, for sure,” Pochettino responded when asked if he would leave Spurs if they won the Champions League.
But Arsenal legend Seaman feels that the Argentinian boss was having a joke and can’t see him exiting in the near future.
“I think he’s saying if they did win the Champions League it’s way too early than what he thought, so all his plans have just gone up in the air and that’s it I’m going home,” Seaman told talkSPORT.
“I don’t see him leaving. I think he was having a little joke and I’m sure he was having a little smirk when the reporter asked the question.
“He needs backing. He needs to show what he can do when he gets some players in of his own.”

TBR’s View:
Spurs are not going to let Pochettino leave them without a fight and he looks like the perfect man to oversee their first spell in a new stadium.
He’s worked wonders with the current group of players and a Champions League final would be an incredible achievement if they make it.
Pochettino is merely point out how big it would be if Spurs can win Europe’s elite club competition and they are doing it without their injured star centre-forward Harry Kane.
Heung-Min Son is back against Ajax from suspension to inject some quality in the final third and has the potential to be a match-winner.
