David Seaman thinks Mikel Arteta could hand Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale his Champions League debut tomorrow.

Speaking on TalkSPORT (11/12 8:42am), the former Arsenal goalkeeper believes Mikel Arteta’s side have a ‘free hit’ against PSV on Tuesday night.

The Gunners have already qualified for the knockout stages of the competition having secured their place at the top of their group.

There have already been suggestions that Arteta will rotate his side in the Netherlands tomorrow, with youngster Reuell Walters pushing to make his debut.

After a disappointing defeat to Aston Villa over the weekend, it feels like a decent opportunity for Arteta to rest some of his key players ahead of Sunday’s clash against Brighton.

And David Seaman wants to see Aaron Ramsdale handed an opportunity to make his Champions League debut.

Seaman thinks Ramsdale could make Champions League debut this week

Speaking to talkSPORT, Seaman admitted he’d like to see Ramsdale get the nod over David Raya tomorrow.

“Yeah, hopefully Fulham are peaking so by the time we play them they’ll have fallen off a bit,” the Arsenal legend said.

“You don’t want to be playing Fulham at this moment in time and you’re right, there’s some proper games coming.

“Champions League is a free hit, so you never know, we might even see Aaron Ramsdale playing for his Champions League debut that would be very nice.”

Ramsdale played a key role in helping Arsenal qualify for the competition for the first time since the 2016-17 campaign last season.

The £30 million man was a standout performer for the Gunners but has since lost his place in the side to Raya.

The 25-year-old has started just once in the Premier League since being replaced by Raya in early September.

It feels like a brilliant opportunity for Arteta to hand Ramsdale his well-deserved Champions League debut. Raya is evidently the first-choice at the moment and is likely to continue between the sticks once the knockout stages. begin

But after helping Arsenal get back into Europe’s elite last season, he at least deserves to make one appearance in the competition.
