David Seaman has shared what Ange Postecoglou said to him when the Arsenal legend bumped into the Tottenham Hotspur boss at the London Football Awards last week.

Ange Postecoglou has won a lot of admirers during his time in the Premier League. Tottenham, of course, led the way in the early stages of the season. And they played an outstanding brand of football during those first few weeks.

It was a remarkable achievement when you consider where Tottenham were when Antonio Conte left last season. Spurs were sliding down the table. And saying that the style of play did not excite the supporters would be an understatement.

David Seaman praises Ange Postecoglou

Postecoglou was an interesting choice to permanently replace the Italian. However, he has been an inspired choice. And he was named as manager of the year at the London Football Awards last week.

It turns out that it is not just Tottenham fans who have been impressed by the Australian. Speaking on his Seaman Says podcast, David Seaman shared he has been won over by the Spurs boss.

“By the way, Ange, well impressed with him. So I was saying hello to somebody and I turned round and I was just about to walk past. And I saw him and I looked and he stopped doing autographs and photographs and that lot and just walked over to me and put his hand out and he went: ‘legend’,” he said.

“I was so happy. And I even said to him, ‘thanks so much mate. I’m loving the way you’re doing your work’.”

An inspired appointment by Tottenham

It is hard to not like Postecoglou. And a lot of players would surely love to have the chance to play for one of his sides.

He has definitely been a very welcome addition to the Premier League. And it was not entirely surprising to see Postecoglou linked with the Liverpool job after Jurgen Klopp announced that he would be leaving in January.

Certainly, Tottenham are definitely looking at a much, much brighter future with Postecoglou at the helm.
