David Seaman has shared his prediction for the Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa clash today.

Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, the Arsenal legend backed Aston Villa to pick up a point at Tottenham on Sunday.

Ange Postecoglou and Unai Emery have enjoyed promising starts to the campaign, with just a point separating their sides heading into today’s game.

Villa appear to be in better shape ahead of the game as Spurs will be without a host of key players due to injuries and suspensions.

Indeed, the likes of Yves Bissouma and Cristian Romero are suspended while James Maddison and Micky van de Ven will miss out through injury.

Spurs are also sweating over Pape Matar Sarr’s fitness while John McGinn is expected to be fit for Villa after picking up a knock on international duty.

The Villains head into the game full of confidence after an exceptional start to the season. But Postecoglou will be hoping to bounce back following consecutive defeats in the space of five days before the international break.

And Seaman believes both sides will have to settle for a point in North London today.

Seaman predicts Spurs vs Villa clash

Speaking on Seaman Says, the former Arsenal goalkeeper labelled Tottenham’s last two displays ‘proper Spursy’.

“Spurs have got to get back on it because they have been proper Spursy recently,” Seaman said.

“They still have the injuries and suspension. I’d love a Villa win but I’m going to go 1-1.”

It feels a bit harsh from Seaman to label Tottenham’s recent displays as ‘Spursy’ given the issues Postecoglou is dealing with.

Spurs went down to nine men in the defeat to Chelsea and were missing several key players five days later at Wolves.

The Aussie boss faces a huge test today though and will once again be without a host of his most important players.

But Villa haven’t been brilliant on the road this season and we think Spurs will pick up a point despite their mounting injury and suspension problems.
