David Seaman makes bold trophy claim about Tottenham fans and Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham lost this weekend as Wolves rolled into town and took all three points in what was a lacklustre performance by Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Gary O’Neil got his gameplan spot on and in the end, the injuries to Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie told, as Spurs simply ran out of ideas.

For Tottenham fans, it was a result that some might have seen coming, given they’ve got over the line so many times in injury time this season. However, the performance was something they perhaps didn’t see coming, with that usual free-flowing attacking absent.

Tottenham fans want trophies and good football

Of course, Tottenham fans simply love to see that attacking football and that’s why Postecoglou has been so popular.

However, speaking on his Seaman Says Podcast, former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman believes that the notion that Spurs fans aren’t actually bothered about winning as long as they’re playing well, is wide of the mark.

“With Tottenham it’s different because it’s a totally different way of playing football, it’s a lot of attack and Spurs fans are happy with that because they’ve always had that at Tottenham where they want to play good football and they want to be entertained. They’re not bothered about if they win anything and I find that hard to accept because Tottenham are trying to become a big club. They’re desperate for a trophy, if they win a trophy, Ange gets a 10-year deal because he’s doing exactly what Spurs want,” Seaman said.

Spurs need to win soon

It’s getting to a point now with Tottenham that it feels like they’re never going to win anything and it’s almost becoming a bit of a dark cloud over the club.

Ange Postecoglou looks as good a man as any to bring that success to the club but as it stands, his team are still inconsistent and losing games with poor mistakes.

Tottenham fans will tolerate things for a while and be happy they’re being entertained. However, the longer it goes and the more Postecoglou is backed in the market, the more pressure will grow on them to start winning.
